Hello!

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Diane "Dani" Smith and I work at the Nightingale Center for Mind/Body Health in Yorba Linda. I am also employed at Chapman University and work in the area of Student Life. I am a certified mediator and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I love what I do and enjoy working with individuals, couples and families.

How long have you wanted to feel better and be happy?
I encourage you to start today! Research has shown that much of our unhappiness and many symptoms of depression and anxiety can be alleviated by changing our thoughts and modifying the way we think. It's true! By changing our thoughts and modifying how we see things we can start to feel better and be on the way to becoming a more satisfied and a happier person! The road to a more rewarding and happy life requires commitment and hard work. It requires changing how we think and how we interact with our environment. I truly believe that the hard work is worth it! I invite you to begin changing your life today. Life is full of disappointments and difficulties. But life also offers us many opportunities. Don't let life pass you by.

PEER and Health Education

This web site was designed for Chapman University students. It provides information related to a student's physical, social and mental well being. Referral links are provided that can be utilized by others. Areas include alcohol and other drug education (Choicepoints), rape and sexual assault prevention education (CARES), HIV/AIDS, STD education (SECS), conflict resolution (Mediation), responsible decision making, anger management, stress management, smoking cessation, men's and women's health, eating disorders, good nutrition and related issues (Mental/Physical).

I have also developed a number of presentations that includes one entitled: Relationships, Communication and Intimacy. This program can be divided into modules of 1 to 1 1/2 hours each or presented in a 2-3 hour block. It is suitable for young adults, married and engaged couples and divorced individuals. The program examines issues related to intimacy in relationships, expanding our limited view of the word to include a multi-dimensional view. It gives tips and pointers to help individuals develop healthy relationships. Additionally, there is a conflict resolution component that can also be added to the program.
